It may sound strange, but EVERY relationship you have can affect your libido in either a positive or negative way.
Open communication with your partner is of the highest importance because, of course, the state of your relationship with your partner is going to influence your sexual appetite. But remember that when it comes to your libido, sometimes your partner isn’t the only one you’re discussing it with.
Nurturing friendships that are healthy and supportive, including the one you have with your health practitioner, is one way to build a circle of trust, so you always have someone to talk to when you have questions or concerns.
Being able to get someone else’s opinion or expertise is critical, especially in a typical Mars/Venus relationship… where differences in our physical needs, our hormones, our sex drive and even our brains, can make talking to our partners seem difficult, even confrontational, simply because we don’t quite understand how differently we are “wired” for sex.
